Providing on-going support for new Muslim arrivals with settlement,
establishing connections & integration into Australian Society

About us

The aim of Muslim Australian Connections of South Australia (MACSA) is to provide ongoing settlement support to new Muslim migrants and international students giving them opportunities to establish connections and integrate better into Australian Society.

Since 2017 our passionate and committed volunteers have been at the forefront providing ongoing friendly support to newly arriving Muslim families, individuals and students from all over the Globe. We use an inclusive, empowerment and capacity building approach to make them feel welcome and included, by helping them to overcome the initial challenges of their transition and the adjustments that are required for settling into a new country.

What we do

We provide on-going support, assistance and guidance 7 days a week to new arrivals via our MACSA WhatsApp group: sourcing accommodation, initial stay, airport pick-up, opening bank accounts, navigating through government and health systems, registering with Centrelink and Medicare, converting or obtaining SA driving license, job networking opportunities, SA school system, mosques, halal butchers/restaurants, emergency contacts, etc. Our ongoing support enhances their confidence, sense of belonging and aids them in settling and integrating well into South Australian society.

We organise our very popular Welcome Dinners & Information sessions, Job Readiness Workshops, Eid Events, Parliament House visits, Day Trips, Meet the Talent, Capacity Building Programs, BBQ/Social gatherings and more… Through these programs and activities, we provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment to foster social connections and professional networks with established people in the Muslim community, service providers and the wider South Australian community.

Every year, we also organise the famous and popular Beach Safety & Family Fun days, Woolworth’s Cricket Blast and Multicultural Junior World Cup for new Migrant families and International students.

The MACSA Team is actively working in collaboration with Department of Home Affairs, Department of Multicultural Affairs and other Government Depts., SA Police, AFP, Multicultural Council of SA, Human Appeal, HOST International, Welcoming Centre, 5EBI Radio, SA Cricket Association, West Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, SANFL, various not-for-profit and community organisations.

The principles of our programs and activities for new Muslim Migrants are to facilitate participation, build social cohesion, promote social inclusion, multiculturalism, inter-culturalism and assist integration into Australian social, economic and civic life.

We love what we do, connecting, empowering and building the capacity of new Muslim migrants aiding a stress free settlement, reaching their full potential and achieving their hopes and dreams in South Australia.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and well respected among the Muslim communities as well as the wider South Australian community. Our team members are known as high achievers and have received a number of distinguished awards for volunteering, empowering and serving the wider community.
